    TD5 complete rebuild

    My TD5 is udergoing a complete rebuild at the moment. The crank has been reground as there was a tiny scratch on one of the journals and now its time to be balanced. My engine rebuilder wants to talk to someone who has done a few as its out of balance and before he does anything he wants to speak to someone. He rang Turners in the UK but they were unhelpfrul saying they never have touched a crank.

    the td5 crank can be a dog to grind and balance as its got a weird set of angles to it being a 5 pot.

    Give the guys at reflex engineering in campbelfield a call they can probably help they've done a few of the ford 5 pots now and its got similar hard to grind issues.

    Thanks Dave.They basically said they have never done a TD5 and can't help. I have to talk to Speedworks toorrow and see if they have spoken to an engine rebuilder I put them onto in the UK. I can't believe no one has balanced the crankshaf from one. Its a total rebuld so we want to get it right. He rang Turners but generally I have found them completely useles and sadly FOS

    Worth a call to LRA since they have built a stroked TD5 so should know how to balance one.
