    Tips on TD5 head stripping

Ok I will be totally stripping the old head. Any tips with removing the cam, valves and injectors? I will need to reuse all the parts. I plan to read the manual shortly so just after anyone experience on the best way to go about it before I have bits everywhere.

yes....keep things in order and fit them back in the same place.......
best way to keep valves and bits in order is to poke them through a piece of cardboard.....and label and number everything.....

I'd leave the valves in it and let the company who are surfacing the head lap the valves as well.

as zook said keep everything in order also the lash adlusters are ment to be kept up right and keep everything clean...also before putting the injectors back in the head flush the fuel galleries out use a whole tin of brake clean,do not rush the job and read the manaul till you are clear on the steps to take. When torquing the head down mark the bolts as you do each step use a different coloured pen or mark for each step,be careful when using gasket goo when assembling the cam shaft retainer to the head use a good brand and DO NOT use excessive amount.
When it comes to firing up the first time it will take abit of cranking to bleed the injectors so make sure the battery is fully charged and don't let the starter get hot I also turned the motor once by hand to check the timing and to make sure nothing was hitting. It took me the whole weekend to do mine they are time comsuming to do rt
disco seriesII mods so far:-bullbar,hyd winch,
detriot locker, lsd front,C.D.L kit, chipped and bigger intercooler,2" lift, rock sliders, lsd in transfer case, modified auto trans.
