Do a quick search for injector harness or similar. It sounds like it could be your problem.
I seem to have a very pronounced miss which occurs when accellerating above 80 kph.
Also when cruising at highway speed, it feels as if there is a governor coming into play. the engine appears to be wanting to rev, but can't.
At around 110 kph it seems to be starving for fuel.
At low speeds, there is no problem at all - just the occasional miss.
The vehicle has always had regular servicing and was last done approx. 4000 km's ago. Mileage is now 107,000
What should I be looking at??
Any advice would be appreciated as I know practically nil about these

when was the last time you replaced your fuel filter......?
also if you use biodiesel for the first time....theres a chance you may have a blocked fuel filter......

I have only recently purchased this vehicle and all the servicing has been done at Land Rover (Austral Motors) Brisbane in the past. The log book is up to date but doesn't show what work was performed.
I would imagine that the fuel filter was changed at the last service about 4000km's ago. Bio diesel has not been used (at least to my knowledge)
I am a newby when it comes to diesel engines and really have little idea where to look.

I'd be checking for oil in the injector harness, just replaced mine, pull the ECU out and look for oil at the plug.

What's the age and model of the LR? Is it a miss or a loss of power? Defender ECUs are under the driver seat. I'm not sure about the Discos.
If it's a miss, possibly oil in the ECU:
Apparently, pre '02 models can suffer from the "Oil in the ECU harness" problem. It also causes hard starting (lots of winding over and no kick). It just causes problems with the ECU and then the car just doesn't run as it should.
If it's a loss of power:
Possible cause is a the turbo inlet pipe, suction causes the pipe to collapse under negative pressure.

Ednic - Use the search function up the top of the screen and look for injector harness, or similar. I think you will find heaps of info. We have changed the harness on many vehicles, both pre and post '02.

I have removed the injector harness and inspected it.
Absolutely no sign of oil anywhere except where the it connects to the injectors, but I imagine this is normal. the ECU is completely clean.
Putting it in Monday to have an expert (?) look at it.
Has it got a remapped ECU?
I will be putting my money on overboosting and going into limp mode.
It should be logging faults in the ECU.

The boost modulator failed on my Disco TD5 and that allowed too much boost which caused fuel cut-out to be invoked at around 2400rpm with a bit of throttle. It was fine at lower revs, and would rev to 3000 or more with light throttle, but coughed and spluttered terribly with a bit of right boot. I now carry a piece of tube to connect the pressure line directly to the wastegate actuator if it happens again - it will only be down on power a little.
