I have just discovered this in my Disco. I had what i thought was a shudder/surge. I now know it is an injector miss caused by oil in the wiring harness which has gone into the ECU. So i have a question for all

I was told by a helpful mechanic at the closest LR servicing dept what the problem is. Which was great as i was having a coronry. He also told me that to clean the oil out of the harness you can dissconnect the harness from the ECU and flood with cleaner. However he said that when you dissconnect the harness from the ECU you will need to have the injector codes etc to input when reconnecting the harness. Is this true or was he stringing me along.

Either way I am having the Disco put into British Techno in Moorooka on Tues to get the injector harness replaced and the ECU cleaned out as well as the ECU harness flushed. Apparently they do quite a few of these and they haven't had any back with the same problem. This is going to cost a fair chunk less than if i was going to replace the whole lot which is what was reccomended to me from a LR servicing dept. So i am happy with that.
