Thoughts on this type of lift..
Anyone got any thoughts on this
http://www.rangie.com/articles_topic...t=15&subCat=94
I was thinking of doing it as a 2" lift only using standard length shocks and springs (I have aftermarket ones already that are in good shape). It's only to help with clearance for 32's, I'm not real fussed on gaining more articulation and it seems a little prettier than body lifting it. Can anyone see any dramas? Will I need castor correction?

From a technical perspective, there are a lot of flaws in what he has done. I'm not going to write a thesis on it explaining why though.
If you want a 2" lift, I really wouldn't bother going to that much trouble - I'd just use shocks and springs off the shelf. Or, have your own springs made/modified if you want that factory spring rate, and then find shocks to suit.

I couldn't be bothered reading his whole spiel, but I noticed he uses standard bump stops.
If you want to have clearance for big tyres you have to either raise the body out of the way with a body lift, or you have to lengthen the bump stops to stop the axle raising enough for the bigger tyres to hit. Otherwise on full stuff the tyre will still hit the body. Can you see that nothing changes as far as the axle body relationship is concerned with just raising the springs, whatever way you do it.
Or you can be really cheap and just put a spacer under the bump stop.
