green was for the earlier models that had brass radiators......
the newer ones have an alloy or aluminium radiator and these are the ones which should have the red coolant.....
its ok to use the red coolant in the older cars......but not the other way round.....
that is....you cant use green coolant in later models......they use different metals......

all dealers used to use the green stuff....thats all that was available back then.....
now they have either both or just the red.........
what you can do is look in your owners handbook and see what is recommended for your car.....
then make sure thats what you have in it.......
or simply change it to the correct one.....then you will know for sure whats in it......
you wont know what was used before you bought it.....so dont think or worry about it....it wont change anything.......
