I may have moments of blondeness-
    but not then.

    Mrs Pedro.

Of course nothing is proven until the piccies are posted !! and of course it depends on how you checked that you were not blond that counts

    bet you do.....
right up till you do run it out of fuel

then ya have to jerry up, then using the manual fuel priming pump, without burning your hand on hot engine components,to draw the fuel up throught the fuel sedimentor, the primary fuel pump, into the injector pump, crack the injector lines, crank it till the HP lines are bled, tighten the lines, hoping not to damage the sealing faces, hope youve got enough left in the battery to warm the glow plugs AND crank the engine over fast enough to get it to fire up.

    Or

if it was a petrol engine...

jerry up, turn on the ignition, wait for the electric fuel pump to prime the system.. and turn the key.

    I know what I prefer.....

(and I bless that priming pump in the TD5 fuel tank... till it fails anyway......you'll know when it does and where I was when it happens, the locals will learn whole new ways to combine expletives)

Not if you don't hear me first.

Oh, for the simplicity of a mechanical diaphram lift pump.

is this normal when out of fuel?

What? POURING SIDEWAYS rain? Land Rovers are so good, they suck up the rain and turn in to propulsion. LOL.

nothing is ever normal eh Pedro.

Note to Mrs Pedro: It was nothing more than a vapour lock.
Note to Pedro: They only ever stop when its bucketing rain and you need to go someplace. I wouldn't want to go out in those conditions either.

    Cheers, GQ
