I would assume it is just a Tdi, and whoever is advertising it doesn't know much about Land Rovers.

Agree with Little John - the TD4 is a freelander engine and was not fitted to any disco. If the Disco has a 4cylinder diesel it is a 200 TDi if it is a 4 cylinder Disco 1 then it is a 300 Tdi - Disco 2 is a TD5.

    Slight correction Gazzz,
    200Tdi 4 Cyl 2.5ltr
    300Tdi 4 Cyl 2.5ltr
    TD5 5 Cyl 2.5ltr

As u have said the Freelander has the TD4 4Cyl 2.0ltr Designated from 02my onwards
The previous as u have is the same spec but called the K series diesel.

    For clarification:

The first Tdi Discovery (now known as Series 1) came with a turbocharged 2.5 litre 4 cylinder engine in 1989 to late 1994 ...the 200 Tdi and then to 1999 the 300Tdi.

The Series 2 introduced in 2000 was the 5 cylinder 2.5 litre motor called the Td5

The Freelander 2 litre 4 cylinder turbo diesel donk known as the Td4 was never a Discovery motor.

mm i was told by a dealer that a 92 range rover was alot better than a 92 disco (and more expansive) becasue the alxes and running gear were better made and totally differant. Which gave for a more comfortable ride and saftey as the chassis on the Rangie was differant to the disco too.
And he wondered why i fell on the floor laughing
