Ok That didnt work, they are also in my Gallery under Baby Bar..

well thats got me snaffed, it doesnt look like any of the other bar setups Ive seen before....

any chance of a pic of how its ment to go in so I can see if its any good for what im after it for?

Steve,18month old's do not have the neck muscle strength to take the beating that our sort of 4wding delivers.. be very careful and make sure you have an inflateable horse collar around the little tikes neck...IMHO you are mad taking a young child 4wding if not on the scene obvious damage , internal damage will surface years down the track..worst case scenerio is a neck break from a severe jolt at 18months..your call but at least you have had the dangers pointed out

Can't say that I would agree with you assessment, but each to their own. In my opinion even our "agricultural" Defenders ride better than any coil sprung Jap 4WD let alone a leaf job.

All my kids have 4WDen since they were a few months old (including a Simpson crossing at 6 months) if you take the precautions and don't do anything stupid theres no real reason to be concerned, the dangers will be from some other aspect with young kids - not the 4WD side.

Anyway just my opinion.

bloody hell no wonder Ive got so many neck problem.... SWMBO always assumed that they were from the roto head snap action i can preform after sensing good lookin wimmen at anything under 300m.

Ive seen pics of me when I wasnt even knee high to a grasshopper in the back of the old mans PMG rover just laying on a matress, no restraints and at least 2 feet from anything solid with plenty of fun stuff to play with, walkie talkies, tool boxes, wire spools... the usual junk a linie carries... and Mum reckons she took the pics cause dad was driving...

if you don't mind me asking, what is the purpose of such a bar?? we dont have them fitted in the u.k.
i have the O.E part no's from the parts book with pic if anyone needs them.

Hi Guys,
Dave the bar mounts the same as in Dave's rear but only mounts to the front factory bolt hole in the side panel(where the std county seats mount), also not as high. Basically remove the bolt/screw(make hole slighlty larger with drill) & fit support behind panel & then fit U shape bracket to this, obviously do both sides & the bar then bolts in between with the child bolts facing forward. Sits about 4" below the top of the rear seat.
I will try to get a photo but it wont be ASAP as i dont have a Defender, the wife wouldnt let me
