If you find out how to do it, let me know. New Rowley Motors (now Alto) changed mine but didn't record it in the LR database so I can't get a new key fob without replacing the lockset.

Hi
We are changing a BECM in P38A, but have a slight problem. There is no lock set bar code for this vehicle. We have checked with the selling dealer, the dealer here and Land Rover Aust, no FOB or lock set on file. We have emailed Autologic (the diagnostic system we use) and they dont have either code. Has any one got any ideas on how to program the new BECM without these (we dont think its possible) or how to get a FOB out of a locked BECM or if there is a lock set bar code on file anywhere for VIN SALLPAMD3VA372840.
I know this is not the sort of thing the average punter will deal with but I have posted here because we are running out of ideas and would value any input.
Thanks Julien
PS If some one does find a Lock set bar code please PM me

Sorry I quite dont understand, they changed your BECM and now you cant get a new remote with out replacing the lockset?? Doesnt sound right as when you program a BECM you put in your Lock set bar code which would be the same as your old code so all the keys ect can "talk" to the BECM ect. So if you need a new key/remote all you should need to do is give your VIN and it will be "made" for your Lock set bar code.
We are actually chasing a F.O.B. code for the BECM, which tells the BECM what the keys codes are.....and other stuff.

No, they changed the lockset.

Had heard of a few dealers loosing lock set bar codes. Its not a problem cause usally (not for the case I'm dealing with) you can get your lock set bar code from the BECM. Just needs to be plugged in. I'm not sure if testbook (t4) does it, but Autologic does.
I shall have to drive to Joondalup! I don't think T4 will retrieve the code.
I'll ask a friend if his RCL will get the code.
I might also check with Bruce Davis - I think he has Autologic - and on a couple of other RR fora I'm on.

If you can get your FOB code then you should be able to get your Lock set bar code from that. I think, it gets a bit sticky there, will have to plug in a working P38 to check.
The codes I got from the dealer from whom I bought the car were:
F1013063053969F10 or 13963053969
There's a one digit difference in the numbers, 130... vs 139..... - I'll have to double check with them the next time I'm up country.
We ordered a keyfob using the VIN and the key, when it arrived, was nothing like the key we had. That's how we found out about the lockset change.
