I'm not concerned about a little bit of rubbing on the inner guard. More so the rubbing on sharp things and suspension parts etc.
I also don't want to do too much to the car such as body lifts and major cutting. Mainly because these are only play tyres and the car will look stupid when I put the stock mags with standard size tyres back on.

Just to add.....
I have a Disco I with Steel rims, BFG AT's 265's, spacers and a 2" lift with Dobinson shocks and HT's springs. Also fitted the 3 door flared arches.
There was quite a bit of sheet metal removed to stop rubbing on the rear arch and on the front I had to dial in the steering stops to stop fouling the radius arms.....fitting the spacers cured this though and now I have decent turning circle again.

235/85s on stock steel rims. I have a 2" OME suspension lift and the rear guard needed to be trimmed to prevent rubbing. I've also done a 1" body lift to keep everything clear on full artic. No problems with steering lock.
