    Question urgent help needed

Have posted this problem earlier but now i am in a pickle

I have a fuel leak from the top of the fuel tank. I believed it to be the chaffing of the fuel lines. Rang LR Aust and they said the recall has been done so not their responsibility..... Rang LR service dept here in Brisbane. Its about an hour away and they said bring it in and they can look at it.......

I ended up taking it to Blue Ribbon motors about 2 mins away. They used to be a Dealer and service dept up until a year or 2 ago. They have had a look and definately tell me its the pipe that has supposed to have been replaced/re routed as part of the recall. They also said it aint safe to drive. Needs to be transported or towed.

I rang LR Aust and they said they can't take the advice of a non LR service dept....however if i got the vehicle to a LR service dept they could fix it if that was the problem.....However they would not pay for the vehicle to be transported to said LR dept.

I then rang the closest LR service dept, which is Southside Land Rover in Wooloongabba. Which would be close to an hour away. They said that as the vehicle is out of warranty and the recall has been done that i have to pay for the repair work.......I told them that LR Aust had already said they will pay for it.....stunned silence. "ok.... can you please hold the line" however noone will pay to get it towed or transported to a LR service dept.

Do i just pay for it myself to get there or can i jump up and down to someone else. A previous post (can't find it now) about the fuel leak said to ring the service dept who did the recall and tell them about it and how it wasn't done properly and that it was a safety breach and got it fixed that way. The service dept that handled the recall is in Nth NSW though.

    What should i do ???

I don't know anything about the chaffing problem. However given the trouble you are having, how hard would it be for you to fix it yourself?
I wouldnt think it would be overly difficult to replace the damged hoses and prevent them from chaffing in the future. So long as it didn't take hours of removing stuff to get at them.

Would be nice if Landrover would pay for it all though.

I had this issue, and I think maybe Dobbo or someone else did.

If it's a recall and it's been done (which mine had) - it doesn't matter, as for the life of the vehicle LR are responsible for ensuring that problem is right.

If you don't want to pay for it, get it to LR.
Mine was losing heaps of fuel and it was around the corner from my local non dealer LR specialist, so got them to fix it.

Contacted LR and they were 's about it.
Non LR fix, can't confirm it was the problem. etc etc
The non LR guys said they could supply the part and a stat dec as to what the problem was.
(it was absolutely, the fuel line rubbing / rupturing recall).
Letters, phone calls, etc., all to LRA were a waste of time.
COuld go down the big issue road, and demand money, get solicitors - but it would cost more than the fix, so I wore the cost, forget about it and keep smiling.
Any larger bill though and I reserve the right to drive the Disco through the delaership showroom
