    Do I hafta

Do I need to remove the whole hood lining to run the video and power leads for my reversing camera from the sunroof console to the rear door or is there enough room in there to poke a cable through from the front. Anybody done this? I don't want to have to run it down from the roof or along the floor or bottom of the car.

    Cheers.

if you take out the interior lights from the roof lining.....you should be able to chase the wiring through.......
there should be an inch or two airgap between the lining and the turret.....

but you may have the cables rattling against the lining......

Get a 'cable grabber' from someone in the electrical business, a wound steel cable (like a long spring) which pokes thru anywhere, then you can pull your cables, someone else may know the official name...i hav one which is ten metres in lenght and is used for doing what you about to do.

    and endoscope for electrical jobbies

i (re)wired much of house with it and being magnetic (steel) its easy to lock on to, if it gets lost.

    cheers, GQ

most sparkies ive seen simply use the plastic edge strip which joins the boards for floating floors.......

they simply drill a hole in the end and pass the cable/wire through this hole.....

or grab a length of tie wire 2.5 times longer than the run you want to make, fold it in half around a phillips head screw driver and put the 2 ends in your drill. have a mate pull on the screwdriver while you hit the drill...

    Thanks Gents.

I'm mounting the camera in the base of the rear door handle.

    Anybody else put one here.
