    Question Defender second battery

Does any body know what the highest A/h deep cycle batt. that you can fit under the seat in a defender is?
I currently have a 75A/h Century and I had to cut the tops off the lead terminals to fit that in. The carrier is standard so can't be longer or wider or definitely higher.

Prepared to spend the money just space is minimal.

Hi, Supercharge Batteries make a maintenance free deep cycle / starting battery. Its called the "All Rounder". Its the latest in hybrid battery technology, it allows you to have 105 a/h deep cycle and 760 cca starting. They come with a nation wide 12 month warranty.

If you're really keen, you can actually get 3x regular sized Type 72 batteries in there! I know... Coz that's what I did.

i suppose...if you get really keen...you could rearange the computers and stuff
under the drivers seat and make enough room to put a battery under there as well......
but i would make sure it was one of those with the breather tube coming off the end....
and run that down through the floor....
the last thing you want is acid fumes and vapours around your ecus......

this is just a thought.....not sure what each person has under their seat.....
different models will have different bits under there......

and there was also a thread on the old site where someone cut out the bottom of their battery box.....
then fitted one a bit deeper and a lot flatter.....this made it easier to fit the second battery......
    and even a third.......

I know somebody who bought a large aluminium baking dish with a lip round the sides and got to work with some pop rivets and he was very proud of his achievement.
