Custom Extra Grip.
a very chunky diagonal pattern, never clogs, climbs out of ruts.
I'm thinking of specific off-road tyres here - don't care what the on-road dynamics are like.
7 1/2 inch, also known as 750, tyres - who uses them and what do you use?

Maybe I should have also said, who makes them and where can they be bought?
And how much?

I've got Sime Konvoys, which are pretty cheap, and are fantastic off road. I'm told that the GT Radial Xgrip is ok as well as it's a similar pattern.

Thanks Phoenix. Where do you get these things? Do standard tyre outlets have them?
I found that a few places had them, although I also heard rumours that they weren't making them any more. I hope they are as they are great!!
My best price was about $150 a tyre, but I ended up buying mine 2nd hand from my brother![]()

When you say 750 tyres, do you mean like standard 7.50R16 tyres?
If so, I can recommend the Michelin XZL. Pretty big aggressive lugs, so they are not what you'd call quiet, but good life and excellent off road. I don't think they are that bad on road actually. These are the standard tyre fitment on 130 Defenders. They are not light though - mine are on Wolf rims and weigh a ton.

I use 7.50 X 16 Firestone Super All Traction (SAT) as my mud tyres. Directional tread gives great grip in hard wet clay and any other slop.
But unfortunely not made any more.
You can buy 7.50 X 16 simex MP trekker or maybe silvertone MT117 or
if you want to go to a 33" try 33"x9.5-16 Silverstone MT117 Extreme.

Also nothing like the sound of sats doing 100kph down the road
