    Rangie P38 enquiries

After my Freelander engine replacement, Ihave had enough of toy Landies.Although the new Freelander looks good and appears by all tests in Europe taht its going to be well received here in OZ, I want to get back to another rangie.
The S11 TD5 disco I have is great, but want Rangie for work.
Can any one throw some light what I could expect as far as hassles from a 1998 P38 4.6 RR. Only 122,000klms and looks like its never seen the dirt.Priced to sell at $23K
    Be as honest as possible
    Regards

1998 is 8 years old and I would get the airbags checked out b4 buying, otherwise not bad value, but I can't help thinking they will be 18 grand next year and 15 the year after, thats a lot of value gone .
Thats been the history of them anyway.
Sorry to be the prophet of doom.

I bought mine new and love it! .......but having gone through all sorts of various problems [solved and/or replaced for free] under warranty I can't stress stress heavily enough to get one that is the best you can find with a guarantee/warranty (if ANY dealer can afford such a thing on a car as complex and that old).........

..............Good luck .........and when you you find one, remember what people say about these, "the purchase price is only really the downpayment - you'll still be paying for the privelege and pleasure of driving it "

    Whats The Next Best Option

Well!!! , Thanks Guys, Sounds Like I Will Have My Hands In Pocket Pretty Regularly If That Model Is That Tempermental.my 90 Model 3.9 Hiline I Had Never Seemed To Cause Me Issues.obviously The P38a Is Spec'd Up A Lot More And Has A Lot More Gismos.

I Will Keep The Disco 11, But The Freelander Has To Go.
    Recommendations Please?

After having been in the lot, And prefering the old 2a...

    IMHO

The td5 deefer is the way to go... most economical vehicle Ive ever owned, and so far it hasnt failed to deliver anything Ive asked of it. Apart from the usual landrover faults Ive not had a problem with it.

next in line is a Disco I like the balls of the V8's especially the efi 3.9l it just seems to suit my driving style but it lacks the hoseability of the deefer and the range.

For spelling call Rogets, for mechanicing call me.
