Thread: Thanks AULRO members

i just want to take a moment to thank all the boys and girls of AULRO.

2 weeks ago i was looking at purchasing a 95 disco and asked for advice on what to look for in this model.

i received lots of good advice and ended up with the new addition parked in my garage.

like all second hand cars , they have their unknowns, and i discovered that the cruise control was out of action and not knowing my @rse from my elbow when it comes to CC, i didnt know where to start so into the archives for clues ..............i now know all the parts and their locations, basic functions and the tricks to suss out the problem myself using members experience.

needless to say , at 11:00 pm last night i had taken out and re installed the vacuum pump, checked out the brake switch , found one split hose , still didnt work, ..so i did the suck the vacuum hose trick at the pump end and bingo , i located another split in the tubing and repaired it .

this morning i took the beast for a run, turned on the cruise control, set the switch ..waiting ...waiting ...then i felt the CC kick in.......orgasmic!!!

so i just want to say thanks everyone, u saved me a few bucks in garage bills plus i got to feel the old girl all over...........

Any time mudguts, thats what we are here for. There is just something so satisfying about doing the work yourself and then taking it for that first test drive and having it feel perfect. Is a pain in the butt when you spend hours working on something only to take it for a test drive only to find it wasnt that at all, but you get that. Matt
