    Identify what this is?

    Okay im very new to 4wd's so when i crawled under the Disco2 for the first time it was like gazing up at the underside of an alien space ship!

    What are these and what do they do?

    Connected to the rear tailshaft, looks like some form of viscous coupling?

    Can't comment on the others except for guesses, but the first one is a brake drum on the driveshaft - used for the handbrake. Keeps it out of the mud - at least that's the theory.

    Might I suggest you purchase the workshop manuals from this site (MARKETS LINK) they are great for indentificating weird objects, repairs and maintenance.

    They also help keep this web site going.

    Obviously im going to have to find some trickier parts to play "what is this?" with you
