Well what an interesting day.

Took my truck to the resident Landy Xpert this morning so he could removed the roo_ed Rancho and guess what? By the time I was traveling up the highway he had called me on the mobile to inform me that both were US.

So I went to work and had a difficult conversation with 4wd1.

Now I must say at this point that service wise they have been good but it still doesn't alter the fact that the shocks they supplied were faulty. They are none to impressed and have refused to give me my money back for the 2 defective units.

I've put the OEM ones back in in the short term until they have the opportunity to hav a look at the dodgy ones that they originally supplied.

American crap

Have to say when I fitted Bilsteins to my 2 door (1980) rangie the on-road behaviour was transformed; have done the same for my 4 door (1990) for the same reason- absolutely superb body control.

Well posted both shoks back to 4Wd1 and so far no comment. I've been talking to the Rancho manufacturer in the US and have had a very interesting conversation. We might be going to consumer affairs before long.

Sorry Steve, but Rancho are a triumph of marketing over substance.

Used to use Ray at Castle Hill for most of my Jeep stuff back in the day and the service was excellent.
Went shock shopping four years ago and bought some TLC 80 Series RS9000 dampers for the rear (used 80 Series Koni's on the front) as Kirk told me they would run inverted.

Bollocks. Pulled them off the rear with less than 1000km on them.

Kirk wouldn't replace them "as I'd used them in a non-standard application" ****, you @#^&$# suggested them, but as he said to me, "we suggested them, but didn't recommend them..."
I wore that one.

I recommend Koni or Bilstein. They work, and the back up is excellent, if there is a problem.
