I would try and get all the mineral oil out first.
Get a cheap synthetic or flushing oil and fill it up, run the car till warm, dump it. Then put your lovely new synthetic in.
I use Mobil - but I am biased.
Will be changing to a synthetic oil next time,,
any hints on the actual change?
is mixing syn and min oils bad?
do I need to flush out the old oil?
have physically seen the insides of a race motor after 12months useing Castrol synthetic, so am a bit biased,,
it seems Mobil 1 is a bit dearer,, but is it any better?

I'd just do the normal service, except with the Synth. They do mix.
Mobil 1 is my choice also, but I cant comment much on Castrol Synthetic, though I'm not impressed with the ability of GTX2 to hold pressure after 5000km.

funnily enough,, have been toying with changing oils from GTX2 in the mighty Suby,, dunno why, it still doesnt need a top between 5000ks services,,, at 213000kays,,
just bought a PUREONE filter to try on it,,
just feel it might need a bit of help,,,
anyway,, service intervals?
was still going with 5k
after the first quick flush,,
might reuse it in the suby!!!
