I'm with you Reads,
I just picked up my NEW Defender and i have now owned the entire range with the exeption of new Rangies and Disco 3.
So far Series 2, 2a, 3, Classic Rangie, 101FC Disco 2, SWMBO's XEDi Freelander and now the Deefer.
and out of all of them the Deefer is the most fun to drive.... (maybe the 101 is up there, but not to commute).
I had to wait three months for it because they couldnt keep up supply with world demand. Bloody Italians just bought 900 110's for power company work trucks.
Defender. The only real 4wd left in the world....alright i wouldnt mind a Unimog, or an Alvis Stalwart.......but thats another story

If sales are good world wide with the defender, i wonder if they might keep the next one coming in production longer than what there hinting.Originally Posted by stusgonesailing

Defenders look better than anything on or off the road... and I don't know why.
But imagine all sorts of 4x4s on top of a hill with the sunset behind so all you see is the silhouette of each one.
Which one will stand out?
Not the freelander, probably not a disco and japanese all will look the same....
But the defender....![]()
And that's why the shape has not changed in over 50 years![]()
