    Turning circles D2

    Hi Guys
most owners of D2's would have noticed that the turning circle of the D2 was not as good as the D1 .
whilst having my D2 serviced in Port Lincoln last week the mechanic at the dealers asked if i had this problem and he was able to fix it 'it is caused by the steering stops being to long ,he had taken this up with LR ,was howled down back in 2003,then LR bought out a revised part being shorter steering stops to fix this . so ours now turns like it should much better for carparks , now dont have to take two goes at it, much better

The Disco II steering was set up for 18" wheels & the stops set accordingly. Most sold here however are 16" which is why LR brought out the mod.

    In theory - no.
You can stick your head under & see what sort of clearances you have on full lock. You might be able to get an improvement.

    Ditto what they said.

The turning circle is the only thing I don't like about the disco, though having CDL as well would be nice

If you could PM me the appropriate info I would be obliged

Just my stops exchanged and the improvement is very acceptable.

What was not acceptable was a new car park dent below the rear offside light housing 15cms by 10cms, urrghhhhh

Not looked on the Disco, should be behind the axle,on the swivel housing.it should be a nut and bolt affair.
