D2 Auto leather gear knob-doesnt screw off

Hi guys, looks like I found this out the hard way and, for want of a better phrse, buggered my knob (sounds bad I know........). I just want to confirm that these are a pull off (not again...) and push on fitting? I am going to get a price for a replacement today and I expect it will be reiculously expensive so I want to make sure I dont knacker this one when fitting it...... Any pointers would be great.

Yes mate pull off and push on. I did exactly what you did. Managed to do a temporary fix but will need to replace it. Let us know how much they are and where you end up getting it from.
