That's about right, a little tune may give you an extra 1 - 2 km/ltr, but most of it is how it's driven.

Thanks or that, driven gently and at around 95-100 k, have just changed oil and air filter, so will see what that brings.
Vehicle has only done 70k and is my first Landy.
When it comes to tuning what can you do with Efi and elctronic dizzy.

No not really, the body is slightly heavier, the engine is slightly larger (3.9 v 4.0) not really alot of gain from the slight increase in engine efficiency.

On tuning, there doesn't seem to be much to do in that region

I got 17 on a trip over 4 days towing a 900kg camper with my old mans 2002 D2. But he gets awfull numbers around town. As for a bigger engine, I think you will find it's the same size, but just advertised as a 4.0 to which it is closer than a 3.9

Yes, sorry when I said bigger - I meant it has a slightly higher kw output than the D1 - but it is only a fraction higher, so I guess that wouldn't really make a knats would it.

    D1 low comp 127kw
    d2 low comp 132kw

    d1 high comp 134kw
    d2 high comp 136kw
