Have just come in from doing that test & by & large 4 ohms per foot is what I get. 50% of the leads are 2' long anyway.AN auto electrical bloke I used to know said: If you have a multimeter measure the resistance of the lead, it should be 4ohms per foot.
So I did and all the others were what he said.
There was one on the dizzy that didn't come out easily & I pulled the outer from the metal sleeve.It appears as though the 'conductor" is not wire anyway, but a black core, as it certainly conducted the multimeter voltage (carbon coated maybe?) but I was able to fold that back on itself & it seems ok for now, ie no miss.
Maybe I'll chuck a set of Genuine Parts at it, especially as these have lasted 10 years. Will I be bothered in 10 years time? Probably not.
