Defender130 tray back rear sliding window rattle!!

    Hi,

That bloody rear sliding window in my 130 ute is drivingme nuts!!

What the hell where they thinking of when they assembled that??.

It flops around like a c.....k in a sock, sick of wedging crap in it & under it and any where else to stop it rattling. Is there a replacement unit for them anywhere??.

    Cheers Sumo

there is a bailey channel available that slides in (with some effort) after you've cleaned out the crap felt.
Sorry, can't remember the section code, but my stuff came from Rare Spares.
    No rattles now.

It might help if you try to press the window firmly outwards into the frame (without breaking it) . And make sure the securing pin sits safely in its slot (without too much play). It worked for me, at least for a while . Next project will be a new Bailey channel, although I really don't fancy the job...

Try some IV drip tube, split a length, lube the inside with windex or WD40 and work it over the top or bottom edge until you cant push anymore on.
There are several types and thickness, I have some thin IV line on top and some oxy mask tube on the bottom, works for me.!

Sometimes it definitely has advantages to work in the right field!!! I'll try your advice before committing myself to the tedious task of changing Bailey channels once more!
