    Thanks for info....i ended up replacing the other bearings (inner & outer), but the old ones looked realy good.......no probes with cleaning them up and keeping them in the kit for a spare just in case?

    No, but you need to make absolutely sure that they don't get any grit in them when cleaning them, and that they are thoroughly greased to make sure that they don't get rusty before you may want to use them.

    However, provided they are kept properly lubricated, wheel bearing failures are very rare on Landrovers.

    repack the old ones and seal in a plastic bag, one less thing to do on the side of the raod and no chance of them rusting
