Diesels will run on avtur alone but should be mixed with ordinary diesel for stability. So sayeth the old RAFFie SGT at work... as all av fuels are to be used once the drums are opened he used to knock off the old half used drums.

    Hi TREX,

The mix for Avtur is generally 50:1 as Jet A1 is a little lighter than diesel. So for a 200 lt drum of Avtur throw in 4 litres of cheap motor oil.
I often run a mix of straight Jet fuel and diesel in the Td5 with no noticeable effect.
A couple of guys of work were running just Jet A1 with a 50:1 mix in there old Toyotas with out drama.
The way I do it is to have x2 20 litre drums of Jet A1, fill the car with diesel then throw in the first 20 lts after 200 k's, then after another 200 k's throw in the other 20 lts. This stretches my fuel range out by an extra 400k's for no extra cost.
I'd be interested in knowing where you are getting yours from in the Alice !!
