Where to buy Disco 1 door lock springs aus

    Hi all

Just a quick thread as need a few door lock springs to get my unlocking/locking fixed. I see on ebay uk that for 15 pound plus post I can get five springs.

Is there any mail order places in aus that do the same service?

    Thanks in advance

I went down this path a while back & some didn't reply to E-mails & others, the price was exhorbitant.

    May have changed by now.

    I got mine from here................http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...SI_PR4_PCN_BIX
Prompt delivery & I bought mine at the 'Buy Now' price.

Is this to fix the central locking problem of locking but not unlocking?

I just replace my motors as they die with ones from Jaycar. $10 will get you one motor and they have proven to me over the years to be perfectly reliable. The fronts just bolt into the exisiting holes but the rears require a little modification but nothing much. Haven't done the cargo door yet. I'm sure its time will come.

When my central locking refused to co-operate I just replaced the actuators with an aftermarket set. (Set only cost about $40 a couple of years ago) They were pretty much a straight bolt in set up, I think I had to bend a couple of the actuator link rods slightly but that was about it....

If it is the springs in the Door Lock, and nothing to do with the Central Locking, i know Rick's on the Gold Coast has some. Not sure of the price though. Try giving him a call 0755966662. He advised me that Landrover replace the whole door lock so he has had some replacement springs made up.

Thanks heaps for the advice and will follow up. What must be remembered is that the aftermarket ones to which I have a well (electric actuators) will not solve that problem whereby the lift tends to come back on itself after the actuator does its job leaving the spring to take over. If you have this problem then presto that little bugger of a spring is the offender.

    Regards
