It will be fine. In effect you will have less suspesnion extension available, but more compression. The total suspension movement will be unaltered, providing the springs aren't too stiff to prevent full compression.
can anyone help?.... i want to do a 2" lift to the Rangie, it has pretty much brand new, standard shocks, what are the implications if i just did the lifted springs?
is it a dumb thing to do, or will it be o.k?

cool, just trying to save myself some much hard earned spondoolies...
thanks for that,

You can buy 4 Dobinson shocks and 4 Dobinson/Lovells springs for less than $900.
Just wait until you save up enough.
But WHY?......he DOESN'T NEED TO DO IT!......see previous replies!Originally Posted by Micka
What I did with my rear is measured the compressed length of the shocks and then determined how much I could lower my mount. I ended up lowering them by 40mm with a 10mm safety margin so my shocks didn't crap themselves on compression.
About to do the same up front, just have to do some measuring up first![]()
This gives you more down travel as well as been able to compress your opposing spring to the bumpstop. I was planning on welding up some bumpstop spacers but it wasn't needed.
