so are you saying you cant get a socket or spanner on there to make sure the rocker cover bolts are tight....?
where abouts are you...?
4 months ago I had a water leak from the back of the plenum chamber
Took it all to pieces a fixed the water leak
I also took off the rocker covers, and on replacment the socket (used to tighten the rocker cover nuts) seemed to rest on the shoulder of the rocker cover and, at the time it seemed tight enough, since then I have had an increasingly large oil leak
I have been told i may be leaking @ the head, there is no usual suspects when a head is leaking eg water in the oil
100,000 kms, v8 petrol on gas
As it is a bugger of a job to revisit the rocker box cover, and it seems impossible to ascertain where the leak is coming from, has anybody experienced similar problems and what did they do about it
I replaced all the gaskets

Loose rocker cover bolts are quite common.
The problem you are having is that you need a very small diameter (1/4" drive) socket with a 12-point shape. Most 1/4" drive sockets are hex sided (6-point).
As a result, I'd almost be willing to bet you are trying to use a 3/8" socket set which is too big to get in there.
