    Just a thought (after a few beers)
    Can you cut the wires in half, use something like a old Lpt1 port plug (male x 2) soldure on and inch f wire between each connection and seal the inner joined unit with a hard silicone based fluid. This will prefent the oil from flowing through, or dripping off on the side of the engine.

    This is interesting, we have a 2003 TD5 disco and now i wonder about this problem with our car, what problem does it cause and what do i have to check to see if ours is suffering with this problem "IE do i have to take the big black cover off the top of the engine and where do i look"
