Youre gonna love this; they don't have one. Thats why they melt headlamp switches, and the headlamps are of average brightness.
Fit one of the traxide kits, the are a good 'plug in' and very well priced.

Thanks for the reply, That is a surprize to me as the wiring diagram says it does have a relay, Oh well I will just pull the steering coloum apart to change the headlight switch.
Cheers

I think that relay referred to in the factory manuals is a special relay that supplies voltage via a resistor to headlights giving a "sub-low beam" when engine is running and park lamps are switched on.....it's to comply with an EU directive.Originally Posted by Landie130

It's NOT fitted on Australian or North American vehicles.![]()
Justin, where do you get traxide kits and about how much should they be?
And any particular tips on installation of the kit?
Thanks
Check the thread on 'headlamp upgrade' in tech, and DRIVESAFE is Traxide. PM Tim, he is very helpful and knowledgeable.
Haven't got a kit from him yet, about to get a few for work. I've read all the posts from people who have and seen some of the installations, very good. I used to make my own 'fender upgrades, but took too long to make/ fit.

I fitted my kit last week and am very happy with it, takes about 3 hrs to fit, the kit is nothing you could not make yourself, the reason I like it is you do not have to touch any of your origional wiring at all, no cutting or splicing into it, it has the correct plugs that connect to your origionl loom to trigger the relays.
Yeah I reckon go the traxide kit from drivesafe too - you might as well make your life easy and Tim will give you all the help you need to get it in and working.
I did one of my own with the help of a mate and some advice from Tim but that was because I needed to get it sorted straight away as part of a fault finding exercise otherwise I would have definitely just bought a traxide kit.
Cheers,
Cameron
Yep, melted my switch in the Td5. To buy they are not cheap. Alternative to save a few dollars is to buy the county switch (same switch, differnt connector) and resolder the Td5 connector on.Originally Posted by justinc
