doesnt it have a thingy already....?

you could always use a hydraulic strut of the nearest dumped car you find.....or a wrecker......
fit this to the top of the door so its out of the way.....

one day i will get around to doing it to mine....so i can get rid of my thingy.....

It does have a door stop thingy on the back door. Defenderzook (2000) has one so I searched for mine on the (2003). Take off the trim on the rear door and you will see it. The bolts had come loose on mine, I just bent the metal a little and tightened it up. Sorry for the description you will see when the trim is off.

    Cheers

There is a gas strut on my SIII, bloody door has swung open violently before and hit me in the head.

If you have never been thumped in the back with a Defender rear door you have missed out on a Land Rover moment!

The camber of the road combined with the spare wheel really is dangerous. May times I used to tie the door off to the drivers side aftermarket steps to hold the barn door open .

Actually the best method I have used was to trade the thing in on a Discovery 2 .

I really miss the Defender off-road though .
