The Precise Temperature of my Beer

    Now

I'm sure some of you are going to jump on me from a great height and say "thats got nothing to do with technical LandRover stuff"

    However I beg to differ!!!!!!

Recently one of my mates brought a new fridge and it had a digital temperature readout on the outside.

Now I'm not the sharpest knife in the blok but I thought to myself what I a shame I couldn't do something like that to my 20 year old Engel.

    So I did.

The readout actually shows 27.5 ambient out side and the inside is 3.3.

    $30 from Dikus Smithus.

You haven't got time to play around with fridges??!!! What about vehicle preparation?

And what beer is that anyway?

Great mod job, and much cheaper than a new fridge just to get that feature!

I did the same .... as has been said it is a good early warning that something is wrong with the regulator and/or power to the fridge.

The only prob is you need to remember to look at it. Some of these have alarms if it goes above a set temp .... haven't been able to find one in tricky dicky's tho

Good idea. I usually take one of those touristy type souvenir thermometers and put it in the fridge\freezer when I want to know what's going down inside. Your unit looks better.

    Nice post.

Should be able to buy online from here unless someone can buy one and post it to you. http://www.dse.com.au/cgi-bin/dse.st...uct/View/Y5007
