Sounds like alot of stuffing round to me IMO id run a set up like a conventinal compresser ..
By means of a compresser runing off a pressure switch to turn it on at a set psi and plumb the compresser into a air tank then run a couple of lines to either side of veh and either end of veh then have a air line fitting on the ends of the lines so you can hook up a seperate hose with a conventinal tyer inflator on it this way you have the compresser filling the tank till its full and when u want to pump a tyer all you do is plug into the closest fitting and pump away when the pressure switch senses a drop in pressure in the tank it switches on the compresser and fills the tank as you fill the tyer this way you can mount the compresser under the bonet or somewere out of the way and the tank under the veh ..
With this set up theres no limit to wat sort of air tool you can run as long as the compresser is up to the task im looking at purchasing a compresser to run on my rangie with this type of set up as im on the sand alot ive been lookin at a boss brand compresser as they have a 3/4hp 12v motor and can pump a tyer up as quick as a 240volt workshop compresser can. do a serch on ebay for boss impresser and you wil see wat i mean good luck

    cheers
