    Exclamation Which PCV Valve type?

On a mate's Range Rover Classic, March 1983 build, which has a P76 motor fitted with RR heads and rocker covers, he's got a standard type RR hose and a flame arrestor canister running off each rocker cover, they run into the Holley 2 barrel into the plate that the fat "pancake" type air filter sits on..... i.e. the hoses vent into the air that's been filtered but probably doesn't get positively sucked in except at really quite high engine speeds.

I can only find a single reference and diagram in a Haynes manual to the PCV system in this model year and it's supposed to have another hose running filtered air [from the air filter box/cannister] via an inline PCV valve to the intake manifold.

QUESTION: What does the inline PCV valve look like, and a Part No. maybe???

Does anyone know where that hose connects to on THIS [P76+Holley 2 bbl] intake manifold?

I'm pretty certain I can get the correct Part No. PCV Valve or a suitable replacement......but I'd like to know where the hose it's in runs to on the manifold........I think it's going to run to a point where it's got Full Manifold Vacuum, so that the blow-by gas flow is controlled by the valve.

Does anyone else have a P76 4.4 with [I think, the standard P76 Holley and manifold] and can tell me where the hose with valve connects to on the intake manifold [.....somewhere at the back????]?

    Thanks guys!

Having owned a 83 RR, I can say that you're mate has the set up a little about face. Since he's using a P76 manifold, there may not be a port available for emission control. He needs only 1 flame arrestor, and generally he should run the pipe from the aircleaner to the rocker cover without the arrestor, then from rocker cover with the arrestor, to the bottom of the holley- but it may not be fitted for emission control. Sometimes a spare vacuum port will do. The PCV valve may not even be necessary. It may be a good idea to read up on a P76 manual to sort it out.
