    Aeroplane Juice

Fella's, Well finally got the guts to run the fender on Avtur, put in 100 litres and bit the bullet, that left thirty litres of deiso in the tank which i thought should help lubrication and i threw in 2 litres of normal engine oil just for good measure. The old girl didn't miss a beat and i cannot notice any difference at all so with any luck it shouldn't be doin any harm to my engine and fuel just got reallly cheap. Thats one for us little fella's

I assume you are looking at the low rate of excise on Avtur.

I'd be reluctant to mention its use on a public forum. You might be inviting a visit from those interested in customs and excise.

Doesn't AVTUR stand for AViation TURpentine???

    (My poor attempt at humor.)

I'd also be interested as to how it goes, Have you got a Pyrometer hooked up? If so, have you noticed any difference in EGT's?

Exceuse my ignorance, but are you talking about Jet fuel (JETA1)- I thought this was basically kerosine? As you wouldnt be running Avgas in a diesel, I thought the only other aviation alternative was basically jet fuel (aviation kerosine)

Now you're flying, but I wouldn't get in a flap about it unless you want to use the rudder one.

Jet A1 = Bonded storage, customs and excise, etc...no I'd keep that quiet and not mention it on a public forum

Very good for cleaning vehicle parts as its very pure - until you drop the parts in it
