    oil leak

    Hi just need to know how much oil a rear main seal should leak before it becomes a concern and will the seal eventually pack it in completly.Today after about 3-4 hours it had dripped about 2 fifty cent size puddles on the carport floor just abit concerned as said before. thanks for the advice zacc

    when it leaves a puddle about the size of an icecream lid overnight and your adding oil weekly its gone way to far....

    If i was yourself Id already have the parts on order and be lining up the other gear needed to do the swap over IVe had seen on that leaked a little bit for a few months and then with no additional worsening dumped all the engine oil on about a 4k stretch of road.

    Is the vehicle got a TD5 motor?????
    If so does it smell of diesel a little bit more than normal after shutdown.?????
    If so my money is on the fuel pressure reg leaking.Common fault been there done that.
    Smell the puddles if it smells like diesel there is your problem.Can look like oil as it runs down the engine collecting dust.
