The hooks on the back of the rear seats are anchor points just feed the straps down over the seat and down the back between the rear seat and the cargo barrier.
Just wondered if someone could advise me on what's involved in installing a baby seat in a Disco (S2). I have a cargo barrier so I assume that this will need holes cut for the strap(s). Could anyone suggest an "authorised" fitter in Melbourne (East) to do this. Thanks.

My 2c worth...
As a Paramedic and 'qualified' baby capsule fitter with the QAS, I would recommend fitting the capsule on the passenger side or center. Reason being the baby (and parent) are away from the traffic when putting bub into or out of the vehicle.
If in doubt (and in gods own state QLD!!!) book in to your nearest Ambulance Station to get the mount and fitting checked out, the most common fault is twisting of straps and strangely non use of seatbelt to secure capsule frame.
Been to many high speed RTC's with bub strapped in to capsules and car seats with nil injuries (Makes Ambos VERY HAPPY!!!!)![]()

If your not 110% sure what your doing, get someone qualified to do it for you. Remember to get them to show you how to do it, else you'll be paying someone everytime you take it out to clean off baby puke.
Go to an authorised fitting station if in doubt.
My suggestion is to go for the centre for the following practical and safety reasons:
1. the centre is accessible from both of the front seats
2. it is away from windows and less likely to have issues with direct sunlight - less shading issues
3. as Johnsy said, you can access the back from the side which is away from traffic - in the centre you have a choice
4. when traveling with extra people especially the grand-parents they sit on either side and no-one has to sit in the centre and they BOTH sit next to THEIR little one
5. in the unlikely event of a side-crash the bub is away from panels, glass etc
6. when the bub grows and sits facing front the view is much better
The only draw-back is fitting back-of-headsrest DVD screens for long trips...
