AFAIK the instrument ADRs would not be affected, as long as you had a working speedo. There is an ADR requiring a demister as well.

Off topic - I sort of went the other way when I rebuilt my IIA. I made a 2-piece aluminium instrument panel in front of the driver, and moved all the guages and ignition over.
For Series Rovers its pretty much open slather.

Most ADRs didn't really come into play till about 1983.
I don't even think a speedo was required till about 1985!

Last i saw it was in tewantin. Ive communicated with the owner by letter. He is aware of its significance and did not wish to sell at the time pictures of it in my gallery somewhere. Its still unmistakeable.

I would love the vents in my county, problem getting the bits. Well easy if I wish to sell my Body for scientific experiments to get the truckload of cash to pay TRS

The factory fitted airconditioned Counties had the plastic un-openable vent covers instead of vents. A lot of work in converting back to openable. I bought all the bits & still have'nt done it.

Air conditioning was optional, and if you got airconditioning you did not get vents. That simple. Probably the majority got airconditioning.
Conversion is possible but a lot of work and a lot of parts.

You dont need that many bits (see my earlier post).

Series vent flaps/hinge tabs/opener handles and about three bits from a Defender. Try British Off Road in QLD - they are wrecking heaps of Defenders and they will post. My parts cost less than $50.

It is a lot of work however....

I'm about to do this conversion again in the next week or so.

This time around I have everything out of a defender instead of a series 3.
I've put in the heater from a Defender too. Much better than the old (massive) heater/air-con unit."

I bought a complete dash (upper and lower sections), vent flaps, levers and heater/blower unit from a 200tdi Defender for $400.

$350 just for the plastic piece! Forget about it.

I'll do my best to document the conversion again when I get into it and will post up the results.
    Cheers
