    Unhappy Removing Defender door trim

I've got a problem with the driver side door lock and I'm trying to remove the trim.

The blasted surround for locking button doesn't want to budge.

Should it just push up and then move off the locking button??

I've spoken to it nicely... ... but I can't seem to prise it up as per the manual.

Can anyone please shed some light on this.

It was awhile ago but I'm pretty sure the the trim comes off with the surround in place. Out at the bottom and then up.

All you have to do is take a flat piece of aluminum and put a tiny right angle bend in it with only a couple of MM of metal. Slide that between the locking button and the trim piece. Pull gently upward. POP

Took me a bit of swearing to work that out

Unfortunately our digital camera is off being fixed or I'd take a photo for you.

    I got it

There are 2 small pins, one on each side toward the base of the shroud, on its outside edge. They are a few mm in diameter and clip into the outer sleeve of the lock button. You need a fine blade screwdriver to go down from the top and open each side to allow it to be prized upwards.

Anyway all fixed and locking mechanism just needed a good going over with some lubricant.

Didn't think to take pictures I was too annoyed with it!

And if all goes pear shaped the plastics are around $10 each.

    Cheers
    Simon.
