    Corrrrrrugation and dust...

Rustproofing is good, what about dustproofing? 1-2 cans of silicone and 1 hour job worth to spent to do it. It will reduce dust "income" up to 90% believe me

I can take pics where i've siliconed mine.

    Cheers,

    Very smooth mate!

The thing on the roof is a bit 'aero' for a 'fender' tho'

But it's top will make a good toboggan when your at a decent dune or in the snow

Amazing how something so 'retro' still looks so right!

More lights!!! (and one on the side for the awning).

Gents sorry for not getting back to you. It is a gunyah made in Coopers Plains (Brisbane South).

Here is a link to them.

There might be a better one but I have to run now.

I'd love to know how to dustproof a fender

    Steve,

    I noticed no Snorkel

For that sort of trip and IMHO a must for any defender.

Not trying to tell you how to suck eggs but it is cheap insurance given the defenders air intake location.

Not an ultimate dustproofing, but it works for me

Red arrows show where to apply silicone (red ovals show sealing tape i used):

heh... had to remove plastic trim to take pics

This may sound extraordinarily tacky but on very long runs in the X1/9 I've used gaffa tape to seal it, and to save my sanity, the noise does get to you after a few thousand miles.

Also, as seals, as in rubber trim for real is ridiculoulsy expensive, cut up and fit a 'pool noodle'; they work very well....

Wow I didn't know they were that bad at sucking dust. I thought they were for water crossings, so was going to get one when we went to the cape.

We didn't have one on our last trip but it wasn't super dusty though. I'll add one to the list.
