    Quick rpm confirmation.

    Hi guys, I have reciently installed a TD5 Tacho into my 03 Defender. Taken it for a drive and appears to work fine. Just need to confirm the rpm is just about on 2500rpm at 100kph. I know its a diesel but the TD5 sounds like it revs so high.

    Sounds about right, whilst I don't run a Defender, my D2 V8 runs at 2,100 - 2,200 @ 100 kph

    If you have the manual for the gearbox it should give you the gearbox ratios - and from that you could work out the exact figure.

    Yep - almost exactly 2500 rpm at 100 in my TD5 130 with standard rims/tyres. It sounds like it is revving higher due to all the noise things make I reckon.
