I couldn't have said it better my self Redback.

I only asked the question for interests sake not that I have the inclantion or the time or money to actually do it.

The Elocker is available through Harrods in melbourne as I saw in 4wd monthly and is available for a D60 so would also fit a Sal.

The site which I was on http://www.rovertracks.com/tech/salisbury.html explains what I was talking about and http://www.rearendparts.com/xcart/home.php?cat=140 shows the D60 elocker is available.

Price seems similar to air locker though but was an interesting find.

D60 parts are not a direct bolt in to a LR Sals (Salisbury is actually a diff design not brand) to use Dana r+pś in an lr sals there is machining involved.

yes - so are they coil or leaf? More axles with leaf springs, but the basic vehicle design is the coil spring 110, but the diffs were lowered to get more torque to handle the much higher mass that became possible with the extra axle, even though the engine was turbocharged compared to the 4x4.

Well given that they have 2xleaf sprung axles and 1xcoil sprung - then no...

Most important point is the SALISBURIES are not coil-sprung - you realise you may be the world's greatest pedant dont you John

Yes - but as I read it only in regard to better availability of parts (e.g. lockers). Actual D60s are hard to find in OZ (without paying an arm and a leg).

THERE IS NO MACHINING INVOLVED - see my post. I haven't done it myself, but have had long discussions with Keith from rovertracks in the US - who has fitted sals bits to D60s and D60 bits to sals diffs without any machining.
