bump. just found this old thread again.

So if anyone else has to go thru the same headbashing, FWIW PLR & Byron were correct, and Philip, but he was talking earlier model which was slightly different.

Basically the rave CD is WRONG.

For a '97 D1 3.9 the sensor to ECU was located on the left of the valley and vertically, with an injector type multi plug.
The ECU is not interested in the switch on the front of the thermostat housing.

These landrovers are great fun aren't they.

    G`day Dan ,

Very good of you to clear that up .

If the pictures are looked at they conflict with the words .

The Rave may have a US bias in places ?

If looked at further on i think it`s removal of the inlet manifold it gives the correct details but it does make me wonder what else may be wrong in the RAVE .

I don`t know if i said at the time but what i go off for flapper and hotwire are Landrover product training manuals , they don`t have all the answers though and are for Range Rovers and this is why i thought it possible that it may have changed for Discovery .

    Cheers

That's great, thanks for clearing that one up - it will certainly teach me not to trust RAVE 100%

    .....bit of a bugger though isn't it/

i think it's just some kind of misprint on reflection, i had searched high and low for parts matching rave description of the setup but of course was never going to find them.

I have already started to cross check with ECP and MicroCat before I say/do anything
