I find this hard to believe, but I can't find anything on the repair of Discovery1 Dash Pads. Maybe I have the wrong terminology. Could someone set me on the right path. thankyou

I assume it's the dash curling problem.
If so, there was a repair detailed by LR in the late '90s. **

Yes Scouse, it is the dash curling problem. I didn't explain myself very well.
I would appreciate any information you have or where to look. I seem to have a problem opening old files, is there some technique to it?
Michael.

Alternatively, if you have a non-airbag Discovery, it appears that Land Rover still have both the beige & grey dashboards in stock. I say "appears" because the system is showing stock but also NLA (no longer available).
These complete dashboards are only $100 list price but they only have them for non-airbag cars.

Hmm, I thought I'd check the kit numbers.......both numbers supercede to a "black" kit (HYM1329) & LR don't have this in stock.
Sorry, looks like this was fruitless.

There was a kit around that comprised some colour coded plastic or aluminium trim that sat on top of the dash where it curls and was screwed down through the dash to the underlying frame holding the curly bit down - when in place it looked like it was original equipment. I understand it was almost immpossible to fit with the windscreen in place as there was not enough room to get the screw drivers in - I don't know if this was true.
I did see a car fitted and it looked good and worked well - the kit was expensive at over $200 and was available from specialist landrover places.
When my dash started to curl - 1999 (was annoyed as the car was garaged its whole life and not used as a regular commuter) I enquired about the kit and couldn't locate one so I am not sure if they could be obtained now. I covered up the problem with a dash mat which seemed a good alternative.
