Thread: air conditioner heater fan

I replaced my air conditioner heater fan , heater core etc in 2005 when l bought the 1993 range rover as the fan only worked on 3.

Just lately the fan has gone into start stop mode with variable time periods and needs some jiggling to get it to switch on.

Is this a symptom of the fan dying and needing total replacement or is it something that can be rectified by pulling the unit out and re-soldering the contacts.

Check the resistor pack for the other speeds, full speed (which I assume is 3) check the switch first. Fans are generally easy - they either work or they don't.

If it still works sometimes it will be a wiring switch issue.
