biggest tyres for a classic rangie std'ish

i have a 1994 rangie classic, no longer has bags, was converted to coil and has a lift of some degree by the looks of it, maybe 40mm. I wan to know what the biggest sized tyre i can fit under the gaurds.

It has srs aibags so a bodylift is out of the question, how much extra would i gain by fitting some whitetiger flares?

    I was hoping i could fit 33"s

Biggest size would be a 245/75R16 AT or MT whatever you choose. Your front stering stops will need tyo be wound out that's all and have a good look around inside yoiur guards for any sharp bits that may damage the tyres.

For 33's you'll need to get aggresssive with the angle grinder and put a bit more of a lift in because the unfortunate thing about the soft dash Rangies they have SRS airbags so body lifts are illegal. A set of flares to cover up the dodgy cutting as well and you'll then have the clerance

I like the angle grinder approach but even I couldn't do it to a nice Rangie like that

I run 215/85R16 on a standard classic Rangie without any problems (1cm shorter than the 245/75R16). At speeds greater than 100kph the speedo is spot on accurate - using GPS and Radar (the radar signs they have on the Freeways to warn you). However at lower speeds, the speedo reads 60kph and the GPS reads 67kph. So grab a GPS and get to know what your new combo translates to in speedo readings.

I have 245.75x16 BFG Ats on my 93 Range Rover , with a 2 inch spring lift.
    Agree with lock stops.
I also suggest that you grind down the bolt at 12oclock inside the rear wheel arch. I have also cut the majority of the guard flange off , at the front of the rear guard, behind the door.
I have seen 245s hit there on bad corrugations. When you have a few guys stand on the bumper you would swear that it could never touch, but the front bushes on the rear arms must compress almost fully. Makes a mess of the tyre and the flange.

thanks for that, i have 245/75's now, so ill just get the same, prob end up with some hancook muds, and i have noticed the steerins stops need adjusting as on full lock it scrubs the trialing arms, but the off road tyres will have to wait a few months as i just purchased a set of 20x9" custom made wheels for her (becasue no bastard makes wheels for the classic stud patern do they!) has 275/45/20 tyres
