Clean all the **** out of the heater box...![]()

To increase water flow through heater, which seemed to improve mine:
Simple job, but slow and has to be done carefully and in small increments with large hand drill tightly held unless cylinder head off.
Bored out hole in head where heater fitting goes to size for tapping half inch BSP thread and tapped thread. Alloy swarf sticks to finger for removal.
Screwed in brass fitting with this bigger thread on one end and to take three quarter inch heater hose on the other. (Had also bored this larger fitting out a bit more.) Connected to heater with piece of standard hose.
Stupid standard fitting is three eighth BSP thread and takes five eighth hose. The LR part number hose is three quarters on the other end.

Side track, How do i pull the heater motor out without pulling the front guard off?
if you have the same aircon/heater unit as in big red pull the restrictors out...
If when the cooling system has had new coolant they havent seperately flushed the heater matrix it will be more than 50% clogged.

Thanks guys,
All is well, flushed the heater unit out and took out the restrictors and found the flap on the drivers side was just opening a fraction![]()
